We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. When you use this website, various personal data is collected. Personal data is data with which you can be personally identified. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this happens. Please note that data transmission over the Internet (e.g., when communicating via email) may have security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Revocation of your consent to data processing Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke your consent at any time. An informal message sent via email to us is sufficient for this purpose. The legality of the data processing carried out before the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

SSL or TLS encryption For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection when the browser's address line changes from "http://" to "https://" and the lock icon appears in your browser's address bar. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Server log files The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version

We do not share this data without your consent. The processing of the data entered into the contact form is therefore based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. An informal message sent via email to us is sufficient. The legality of the data processing operations carried out before the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation. The data you entered in the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

4. Processing of Personal Data / Training / Routes / Training Data

4.1. Purpose of data processing and networks used To conduct and evaluate the "1000km Challenge Borna – Étampes", we offer our users the opportunity to synchronize their athletic activities via third-party interfaces (APIs). These include, in particular, the Wahoo, Garmin, and Strava networks. The transmitted personal and activity-related data is merged and processed by us exclusively for the purpose of displaying individual progress within the context of this specific challenge.

4.2. Data minimization and anonymization We process the data transmitted by the networks according to the principle of data minimization. As far as the purpose of the challenge permits, the data is anonymized and internally assigned exclusively to the respective user account to calculate athletic progress. This data is not passed on to uninvolved third parties.

4.3. Leaderboards / Rankings (Voluntary basis) Based on the synchronized data, we create leaderboards or rankings for the challenge. The display of your real name or username in these public or internal lists is strictly voluntary (opt-in procedure). Without explicit, active consent from the user in the account settings, the appearance in the ranking remains completely anonymous, or the user is not listed publicly.

4.4. User control and data management Every user has full control over their personal data at any time in their personal dashboard (account management). There, connections to the networks can be managed, and personal data and progress can be viewed, added, edited, or permanently deleted at any time.

4.5. Storage period and automatic deactivation of synchronization To ensure the protection of user data, the following fixed periods apply to accounts and interface synchronization:

  • Account duration: A created user account is fundamentally activated for a period of 3 years. After this period expires, personal data will be deleted, provided the account is not actively renewed.

  • Synchronization duration (1 year): For data protection reasons, active automatic data synchronization with the connected networks (Wahoo, Garmin, Strava) is limited to 1 year from the time of connection. After exactly one year, synchronization is automatically deactivated by our system. To continue the data transmission, the user must actively re-enable the synchronization in their account management (renewed consent).
